Catherine M. Besthoff, RN, MHA, CPHQ
Director of Program Evaluation
Ms. Besthoff assists in developing and coordinating clinical quality initiatives, educational programs and consultative services for the institute. Her experience and expertise facilitate measuring organizational performance, educating healthcare professionals about performance improvement methodology and conducting healthcare evaluation activities in quality and safety. She has led and participated in multiple patient safety campaigns, clinical quality initiatives and has over 26 years experience as a registered professional nurse specializing in adult critical care nursing, nursing administration and healthcare quality. She holds a Master of Health Administration from Hofstra University, School of Education & Allied Human Services and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. She has served as a guest lecturer in the areas of healthcare quality and performance improvement methodology. Ms. Besthoff has worked in ambulatory care, community medicine and population-based studies. She serves in an active role in statewide performance improvement activities and the International Society for Quality in Health Care.
